Introduction to Web Design for Teens

Learn about the history and foundations of web design, as well as explore how to actually implement those designs through web development. Students will gain both conceptual knowledge, like information architecture, graphic design, and principles of typography, as well as learn concrete technical skills like file management, code editing and usability testing. Throughout the course students will learn not just what a well-designed site looks like, but how to use the actual development technologies needed to bring those designs to life as functional websites. This class will not involve extensive coding, but students will be introduced to some basic concepts of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. / Open to students ages 15-18. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete registration policies.

Prerequisite: Working knowledge of Mac OSX.

What to bring: Pen or pencil; notebook or sketchbook.
