Advanced Children's Book Illustration

In this advanced class, students will continue to explore and develop their illustration work for the picture book and children’s market. Further study of stronger character design and development will be pursued while integrating that into one's visual storytelling narratives. Assignments will be given to further each student’s individual work toward assembling a full portfolio of work for this industry. Both narrative assignments and more commercial based projects will be assigned. / Material fee of $6 in addition to course tuition. / Open to students ages 18 and above. / View complete policies.

Prerequisites: Previous drawing experience. Introduction to Children's Book Illustration or equivalent experience (must be approved by instructor). Previous experience with Adobe Photoshop is helpful, but not required.

What to bring: Pen or pencil, notebook or sketchbook. A complete list of suggested materials will be discussed during the first class meeting.
