Weird, Wild and Wonderful Creatures (Textile Art) (in person)

Design, draw pattern templates, cut, stitch, stuff, and embellish soft sculpture creatures! The focus of this class is stitching and sewing construction. Each day sewing techniques are introduced to students, from simple to complex stitches and embroidery. Students are supported in translating their two-dimensional designs into three-dimensional soft sculptures. Students have time to make multiple creatures in this week-long class. No previous sewing skills needed! At the end of the week, families and friends are invited to view the students’ work in a group exhibition.

Open to students ages 9–12. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please bring a packed lunch each day. No nuts please.

Registration Deadline

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.
