Knights, Mermaids and Dragons: The Magic of Painting, Drawing and Collage (in person)

For inspiration, students learn about artists who create bold images and lyrical collages. Other sources for inspiration include stories and fairy tales set in medieval times and images of dragons from various traditions. Engage with a variety of materials and surfaces to build a life size character through various painting and collage techniques. Start by drawing and sketching as a brainstorming exercise and follow by painting and other surface design and decoration and to add to their life size project. At the end of the week, families and friends are invited to view the students’ work in a group exhibition.

Open to students ages 6–9. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Registration Deadline

July 13
If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.
