Introduction to Clamshell Box Construction (in person)

Learn how to build a clamshell portfolio box, suitable for the presentation and storage of photographs, prints, books, or drawings.

Learn how to accurately measure, cut materials, and build a clamshell case to take home. All materials are supplied and pre-cut to size before the start of class, although recommended equipment, choice of book cloths, papers, and the different adhesives and their uses will be discussed for those students who wish to continue constructing cases in their own time. Detailed worksheets and lists of suppliers will be provided.

This class is geared towards printmakers, photographers, and any artists working in 2D who wish to present, or store, their work in a hand-crafted portfolio box. No previous experience necessary. This is not a Printshop based class. / This class will have a 30-minute lunch break. / Materials fee of $87 to the course tuition.

Open to students ages 18 and above. Review complete policies, including class cancellation policies, before completing your registration.

Required materials

Supplies for first class
Pen or pencil, notebook or sketchbook. The materials fee for this class will cover the required supplies.

What to wear
Clothes appropriate for messy creativity. Close-toed shoes are required.

Class savings

Register on or before May 15 and save $25.
Register for more than one class at a time and receive $25 off each additional class (same-day registrations only).
