Experimental Comic Art (online)

Explore the diverse world of alternative comics creation and production.

Class meeting details

This online class is synchronous, meaning students will meet together online. Class meetings are conducted via Google Meet and include lectures, demonstrations, class discussions, exercises, time to ask questions and share resources, and work time. 

Prerequisites

Previous drawing experience is helpful, but not required. 

Required materials

Hardware
A computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access, a camera, and microphone for class meetings and to capture and upload work. It is important to be able to capture high quality images of your work to share with the class. 

Supplies

  • pen or pencil
  • notebook or sketchbook
  • 1 Strathmore sequential series bristol paper (11 x 17")
  • 1 Faber-Castell Pitt 8 PITT artist pen set
  • 1 Derwent graphic pencil set of 4
  • 1 Magic Rub eraser
  • ruler (at least 17")

Supplies will cost approximately $50.

Registration deadline

April 7
If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.

Class savings

Register on or before January 17 and save $25.
Register for more than one class at a time and receive $25 off each additional class (same-day registrations only).
