Art Educator Workshop: Printmaking Exploration (in person)

Produce prints in MCAD's beautiful and expansive printmaking studio while devoting studio time to technical investigation and personal exploration.

This week-long workshop for art educators will include demonstrations of pressure prints, pochoir, relief printing, and several monotype printmaking techniques. Learn drypoint intaglio on plexiglass plates; experiment with embossing, chine-collé, and experimental plate printing; and discover the monotype process, including how to print by hand and with a press. A general overview will also include: paper preparation; inks; registration techniques; different types of inexpensive printing presses; and gadgets that teachers can add to their classroom toolkits. This workshop includes optional time for informal small group sessions for art educators who teach similar subjects or age groups to share lesson plans. / Non-toxic, water-based inks will be used. / This class meets Tuesday–Friday. / This class will have a one-hour lunch break each day. / Graduate credit is available.

Facilities fee of $75 in addition to course tuition. Open to students ages 18 and above. View complete policies, including mandatory COVID protocols, before completing your registration.
