2D Collage and Assemblage Techniques (in person)

Explore the art of collage through an examination of the medium's history and an exploration of smaller scale collage technique.

Experiment with different collage techniques like chine colle and decoupage while using found objects, fabric, and mark making tools. Collograph is an image printing technique that creates unique images and textures that become significant elements in collage work. / Material fee of $4 in addition to course tuition.

Required supplies for first class

  • pen or pencil
  • notebook or sketchbook
  • photocopied images (for chine collie)
  • paper-based images (magazine, internet, newspaper, old books etc.)
  • gel matte medium
  • scissors
  • watercolor paper
  • paints
  • brushes
  • white glue
  • cloth fabrics (optional)

Students should expect to spend $30-40 on supplies.

Registration deadline

April 4
If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.
