MCAD/McKnight Artists 2006-07
See the engaging and passionate work of the four recipients of the 2006-07 McKnight Artist Fellowships for Visual Artists starting July 6, 2007 at MCAD Gallery.
"MCAD/McKnight Artists 2006-07" runs through Aug. 12 and opens with a reception on Friday, July 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. Both the exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
Bartley, Beltran, Estep and Walla were selected last May by a jury comprising three national arts figures: Michelle Grabner, an artist, critic and teacher at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and director of The Suburban, a gallery in Oak Park, Ill.; Paola Morsiani, curator at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston; and Dean Sobel, project director of the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver.
A panel discussion with the four artists, moderated by juror Michelle Grabner, is scheduled for Wednesday, July 11, at 6 p.m. in MCAD Gallery. Like the exhibition, it is free and open to the public.
The McKnight Artist Fellowships for Visual Artists program was established in 1981 with the purpose of identifying and rewarding outstanding Minnesota artists who have an established record of artistic success. The program is administered by the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Find out more about the Fellowship program.
