Nicole Chartier
(BFA/Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Nicole earned her degree in illustration in 2006. Currently she works as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator in the Milwaukee area. Formerly a graphic designer at Manhattan Toy, a Minneapolis-based specialty toy company, her plush toys have been featured in Parents, Real Simple and TD Monthly magazines, while her graphic and illustrative work has appeared in Entertainment, Playthings, and Speak Easy magazines. Her clients include Leslie and the LYs, Punch Pizza, Swirl Cupcake Cafe, and Notre Dame University.

Teresa Cox
(BS/University of Wisconsin-Stout)
Teresa earned her arts degree with concentrations in painting and drawing. Teresa has taught and shaped the Studio Kids 5-7 program since 1997. She has taught children and adults for 19 years through her own studio and at various institutions including the Walker Art Center, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Minnesota Museum of American Art, the Science Museum of Minnesota, and the COMPAS Writers and Artists in the Schools (WAITS) program. Teresa's paintings and drawings are exhibited and collected internationally. She recently completed a terrazzo public art installation at Winona State University. Cox works out of her St. Paul studio.

Teri Fullerton
(MFA/Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Teri Fullerton is a Minneapolis based photographer. She earned her MFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited in New York City, Portland, Ore., California, CoPA Milwaukee, Friends of Photography in Ohio, the DeVos Art Museum in Michigan, University Art Center in Rochester, as well as in Minneapolis at The Soap Factory, Chambers Hotel, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Minneapolis Slideluck Potshow, and the Minnesota Center for Photography.

Michael Gaughan
(M.Ed/University of Minnesota)
Michael received his BFA degree from MCAD in 2002. He earned a Masters degree in Art Education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He currently teaches after-school art classes to middle school students in St. Paul, mentors an autistic artist, and makes his own art. His studio practice includes drawing, painting, sculpture, and performance. Michael loves teaching art to young people because he believes that learning about art history and making art at an early age can help people think creatively, be better at problem solving, and have more tolerant and open minds throughout their lives.

Barbara Gilhooly
(MFA/Colorado State University)
Barbara proposed and implemented Studio Kids 16 years ago and continues to teach and develop the program. Gilhooly works as a visual artist and maintains an active exhibition schedule. This past year, her work was shown in Paris, New York, Colorado, and several exhibitions in the Twin Cities. She works in a variety of materials and is known for her sculptural wire, paintings on wood panels and playful 'Misfit' found-object assemblages of aircraft, angels, and Tin Folk. Gilhooly's paintings are represented by Circa Gallery and Gallery 360 in Minneapolis. Her sculpture is represented by Lisa Fontanarosa Collection in New Mexico. Gilhooly's work as appeared in numerous publications, including: Interior Design, Metropolitan Home, Midwest Home & Garden, Metro, Minnesota Monthly, Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, and Canadian Art.

Erik Johnson
(MFA/Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Erik Johnson is currently a professor of Digital Film and Television at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He is a documentary filmmaker and has worked in the television and video industry for over fourteen years, including as owner of a video production business, a producer of a television series, and segment producer for a variety magazine series.

Mary Kazura
(BFA/Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Mary is trained in drawing, painting, illustration, photography, jewelry-making, and printmaking. As an illustrator, she has worked on projects for Popular Front, 3M, PBS, and originalsnowboardart.com. Mary has been involved in teen art education since 1997. She currently works for MCAD as a senior admissions counselor.

Ryan Kelly
(BFA/Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Ryan has drawn the graphic novels Local, The New York Four, Northlanders and Giant Robot Warriors and has worked on projects for DC Comics, Marvel, Oni Press and Image Comics.

Leslie Kelman
(BFA/University of Minnesota)
Leslie earned her degree with a double major in art and biology in 1999. She works as a technician in the 3D Shop at Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has also been teaching welding to teens for four years at MCAD and through a collaboration with Leonardo's Basement in Minneapolis.

Erika Olson Gross
(MFA/Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Erika teaches drawing and painting courses at Minneapolis College of Art and Design to teens as well as adults. When she's not teaching, she is busy making paintings and sculptures that have recently been exhibited at Thomas Barry Fine Arts, Rochester Art Center, The Toronto Art Festival, and the Minnesota Museum of American Art. Erika is also a recipient of the 2004-05 McKnight Artist Fellowship for Visual Artists.

Steve Stenzel
(MFA/Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Steve has taught photography at Brown College and the University of Minnesota, and is currently teaching at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and the College of Visual Arts. His work has been shown in galleries internationally and is in public and private collections. He was commissioned by The New York Times Magazine to shoot a cover story and has since completed two more projects for The New York Times.

Anne Sugnet
(MFA/Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Anne teaches and develops the Studio Kids 8-12 program. She has taught children and adults for more than 15 years thru the COMPAS Writers and Artists in the Schools (WAITS) Program, the Walker Art Center's children's classes and the Minnesota Museum of American Art. She is currently an Affiliate Faculty member at the University of MN's Department of Art, and at Metro State University. Anne shows her work regionally and nationally and has received fellowships from the Jerome Foundation, the McKnight Foundation, and the Minnesota State Arts Board for her work in sculpture and installation.

Emma Trithart
(BFA/Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Emma's freelance clients include BUST magazine, Fallon Worldwide, Knock Inc., Think Creative Design, and others. Emma's work has been shown locally including at the Tea Garden, the Spyhouse coffee shop, and The Junc Gallery. She was also featured among the Society of Illustrators' 47 honorees. She has been working with teens through MCAD's Summer Expressions Sessions since 2005.

Joel Vollmer
(BFA/Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Joel graduated with a BA in Film from the University of Toledo in 1995 and soon turned those skills towards comic art. In 2007, he earned a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Currently he works on freelance comic and illustration projects while pursuing a number of independent projects.

Megan Vossler
(MFA/Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Megan's drawings are exhibited nationwide, with recent and upcoming shows at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Franklin Art Works, the College of Saint Catherine, and the De Young Museum in San Francisco. Megan has received both the Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Emerging Artists, and the McKnight Artists Fellowship for Visual Artists. She currently teaches at Macalester College in St. Paul.
