It is with gratitude and encouragement that we at MSAA extend sincere congratulations to all of the students and teachers who participated in MSAA 2009-2010. Thank you for your dedication and perseverance, and for advancing the visual arts in our community.

This year we received 1,151 individual artwork entries and 161 portfolio entries! The jury awarded 53 Gold Keys and 115 Silver Keys for individual entries, and 10 Gold Keys and 18 Silver Keys for portfolio entries. Additionally, the jury awarded 150 individual entry Merit Awards and 77 Portfolio Merit Awards to students whose work, although not chosen to be in the MSAA Exhibition, was noted by the jurors as deserving of merit.

The 2009-2010 Minnesota Scholastic Art Exhibition is open to the public daily from January 22, 2010 to February 21, 2010 in MCAD's Concourse Gallery. We invite you to view the exhibition and to see this amazing artwork from Minnesota's young artists.

More about MSAA:
The Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards program (MSAA) is a statewide regional affiliation of the national Scholastic Art Awards program, which offers early recognition of creative teenagers and scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors.

This program is open to all Minnesota students in grades 7 through 12. Student entries are typically submitted by art teachers.

The Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards are celebrated with an exhibition and ceremony hosted by the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Selected artwork will continue on to the national competition in New York. The ceremony is on Sunday, February 21, 2010 in MCAD's Auditorium 150.
