The Summer Expressions

Pre-College Sessions

MCAD Summer Expressions Sessions (SES), the Minneapolis College of Art and Design's pre-college summer program, is designed to give high school students an introduction to life at MCAD.

For two weeks, students ages 16 to 18 live on campus, experience a college-like curriculum, earn college credits, make art, build a portfolio and attend social activities.

These sessions provide students the opportunity to explore their creativity and critical-thinking skills while pushing them to try a wide range of techniques and media. It's a chance to meet students from all around the country who are interested in similar things. It's an opportunity to develop independence and accountability by living in a shared space and managing time and workloads. It's an introduction to college life that will support students as they begin their college experience.

We're also excited to introduce our newest addition to MCAD's Pre-College offerings, SES Express, a non-residential one-week program for high school students ages 16 to 18.
