Summer Youth Programs

Every summer, young artists and designers ages 5-18 are invited to participate in MCAD Summer Youth Programs and experience first-hand the fun, creative and challenging world of a top-notch art and design school.

MCAD Summer Youth Programs provide an authentic studio experience. Our teachers are innovative, professional artists, and participants gain access to the same world-class facilities used by our degree-seeking students.

Separate classes are available for students ages 5-7, 8-12, 12-14 and 15-18.

For teens 16-18 looking for an introduction to life at an art school, there are the Summer Expressions Sessions two-week programs in which students live on campus and get deeply immersed in various visual disciplines. There is also a one-week, non-residential option called SES Express.

Scholarship Opportunity

This summer we have a special scholarship opportunity for a select group of our Summer Youth classes beginning after July 1. This scholarship is available to students who receive the free or reduced- cost lunch at school. Download the Scholarship Brochure to find out more, see a list of scholarship classes, and fill-out the scholarship registration form.

All scholarship spaces are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. In each case, we will award you your first choice unless the course is full.

Please note that spaces are filling rapidly. At this time, all courses in the kids 8-12 age range are currently full, but are accepting waitlist applications. Please contact us at 612.605.6674 or at continuing_studies@mcad.edu for more details.
