Furniture Design
Furniture makers know that the key to a quality piece - be it a chair, desk, lamp, whatever - is good design. That means balancing function and form. To that end, MCAD furniture majors study the history and concepts of their art while also honing the skills of their craft in the shop. Art, craft ... so long as it does its job and looks good doing it, you can call furniture whatever you want. Just don't put your feet up on it.
